Problems with work - DLA?
« on: August 26, 2003, 03:50:43 PM »

I'm wondering if anyone in the UK is receiving DLA (Disability Living Allowance).  I want to find out what is the criteria for qualifying for this.  I wouldn't exactly class myself as disabled but do have problems getting around and am in constant pain.  I have already lost one job because of the time I had to have off for dislocations and then a TTT and recovery and various other knee problems.  So far with this TTT I have had nearly 4 months off and am due to go off again for a week or two.  With the constant pain I find myself getting depressed as well, sometimes it feels like it is just too much to cope with along with the added worry and strain of working full time and looking after 2 kids.  I can't afford to go part time and heard about DLA but don't know much about it.  Anyone out there receiving this or know anything about it.  Any information would be very much appreciated.  Thanks.
