17 incredible words
«

Our weight watcher's leader told a story of a man who had a very successful business career, and at his retirement, he gave a new up and coming young guy a business card of his with 17 words on it that according to him, "never failed and always helped him to work his way through anything."
That up and coming young man was smart enough to understand this was valuable and at his own retirement some 40 years later, he shared those 17 words, written on that business card.
The point at weight watchers was to connect with any of the words that connected with our weith loss journey. I can see them connecting up with my knee and arthritis journey and any number of life travels (parenting, college, etc...)
She suggested that we look through the list of words--and pick the one we could most identify with in regards to weight loss. I'm going to list those and would like for you top check oout the one that is most important to you in the world of knee discomfort. Those 17 words are:
Prepare Listen Smile
Care Choose Focus
Believe Relax Act
Forgive Pray Trust
Change Persist Accept
Risk Want
I found this to be a really strong meditation and positive self-talk activity, Sylvia

Thanks Sylvia for that great post!
I think there are a few words on the list that really are the most important to me and my knee troubles, I really had trouble picking one but I think the one that is most important to me is persist. Through all that I've been through, I've always tried to tell myself not to give up and to keep fighting for answers. That word is so important to me now as I'm working and trying so hard to rehab from my surgery-it's a struggle to keep up that persistence but I know that I just have to keep trying.

Hi!
I really thought that this was meaningful--and I have a list of those 17 words with me in my purse now.
As for my knee issues, my word is "believe." I'm having to believe in myself and my faith and my docs and my family. I believe that things will get better one way or another.
Take care, Sylvia

Mine would be "pray" as I'm having a TTT surgery on Wednesday. Also "WANT" because I really want this to be the fix. LOL! Thanks for the encouragement!

Sylvia:
All of those words definitely pertain to my knee journey. Right now, I'd say I need to believe and persist. And smile. And always pray! Thanks for the post.
