knee problems
« on: February 03, 2009, 09:56:50 AM »
I have been to the doc many times. I was wondering if anyone can help me. They tell me I have PFS. I do not believe that. I have pain in the front of the knee behind the knee cap when seated. When standin its the whole knee but the Front Blows up. They say that there is nothing that they can do for me. I am in the military so i need my knees. If any advice hit it back. Thank you very much for your time.

Hi Lighthouse,

PFS is a lot like saying you have a headache.  Yeah I know it hurts and where, now tell me why.  I'm not sure what recourse you have for a second opinion or a referral to an OS being in the military.  If you can, try to see an OS.  Usually the first step is some PT.  In the meantime, you can use the good old RICE method.  Ice and elevate when it swells (as much as feasable).  A knee sleeve you buy at the drug store may help, it may not, but not terribly expensive to try.

Good luck.
