So you didn't cancel? Or can you still use unexpected medical reason to cancel? I once went with friends on a ski trip where I could not ski because my ankle was in plaster. It was the most miserable trip of my life as the snow and weather were perfect.
Just as a tease, I'm off to cross-country ski today! We had a fresh dump yesterday and the trails by my home are now open. Weather perfect too - not too cold and bright sunshine. Sorry!
Take it easy today and tomorrow - let us know what the surgeon actually did while they were in there, or have you not seen them yet?

You decided to go for it then. At least you have it over and done with. The quads take a hammering with surgery its a shock when you realise how bad.
Concentrate on the recovery now and you will soon be able to go skiing again.
Ignore Alpine Sue
she might fall in all that snow LOL

Didn't go - I told my physio of my intentions and he made sure I was in no fit state
By the time I finished the training circuit he gave me I was crawling out of the door, the sun had disappeared and the snow re-started so I came home and vegged for the whole afternoon. The crawling got me on my knees for the first time in 3 years though
The micro-fracture usually means you have to be non-weight bearing for a while is that what the OS said? How bad was the damage did they say?
I see my surgeon next week and my physio does not want any setbacks. If all goes well I'll be prescribed a functional brace and cleared to re-start gently on the pistes.

No way I bet you were gutted, at least you did not get a chance to fall in the snow
Don't hurry things Sue and listen to the OS and PT.
Best of luck.

Two days post op - tenderness laterally that I had pre-op is gone, still some swelling but no pain. can't boast German ski team surgeon but scottish rugby team surgeon did the op- not bad. microfracture is non loadbearing but I don't know how long for? Ant ideas- don't know everity of microfracture.
