unusual mri scan ?
« on: January 12, 2009, 01:28:35 PM »
hi all i just had an mri of my right knee on friday and i was given a cd of the scans away with me and i have been looking through some of the pictures and there are a couple that look odd. i bashed my knee on the lateral side about six weeks ago(four weeks after meniscus trim) and it swelled up right away and it felt as if there was a lump at the front of my knee on the lateral side. the lumpy feeling is still there.
i am posting some of the scans that i think are a bit suspect. please feel free to comment. i dont see my physio who sent me for the scan for a few days so i dont have the report yet
cheers

It looks like you might have a tear in the anterior horn of the meniscus (the second scan).  Black is not good - you want continuous whitish lines.  You can clearly see the gap toward the front of your knee on the second scan.

Please let me know what your doctor says!
