knee cracking
« on: December 18, 2008, 04:34:00 PM »
while exercising I noticed my knee making a cracking sound, but I don't feel any pain, maybe a slight tightness. What is this?  Also. I see several messages related to confusion over how to post a message.  Someone should make the site more user-friendly.

It could be a number of things, but what comes to mind is what is called crepitus.  That is the cartilage behind the kneecap gets worn down and makes cracking or crunching sounds.  As long as it does not hurt, I would not worry too much.  If you are concerned, check with your doctor.
