Hey John
i have backed off with playing, though i am still training.  I try to do a leg/upper body strength session, with a swimming session, and a plyometric session in a week.  I recently read a report about the 12-18 month injury problem with ACLers.  So i have decided that for the rest of the season i work on gaining strength, and match fitness ready for next season.

Today however i was on my FA level 2 course and played football for all the other coaches from 9.30 - 3.30 with a 15 minute break between.  Not bad going  ;D

Wow that is very nice going, thats a long session ;D

What report did you read? Any chance of a link? I can't wait to play again but I would rather take my time and come back for good rather than rush back and break down so I think your wise to hold off alittle until you reach your strength/fitness goals

Hello Bailey and dancer.
hope your both well.  I have looked back for the article, and i cant find it.  My rehab is still going really well.  I took part in an Aikido demonstration for 3 hours last month :o

I have still been taking things easy with football.  I have found a new training regime http://www.pponline.co.uk/encyc/combining-plyometric-and-weight-training-exercises-increase-speed-and-power-41447
i have to say my legs are feeling stronger and stronger.  I'm going skiing at Easter, that will be a big test again.

There are days when i totall forget about the knee, then there are days i wake up and it feels 'sludgy' like there is oil in there that needs warming up.

Keep working hard all.  Its 16 months since my op  ;D

Awesome! I'm very jealous!

On another note, hope you can get home given all the volcanic ash. Hopefully, you're planning to travel by train. I just got back from Europe two weeks ago and am very glad that the volcano decided to hold off spewing its ash until I got home. I did get caught up in the British Air strike, but that was minor by comparison.
