BSchaefer, I had just turned 54 13 days before the surgery. And I have to tell you it is now nearly 3 years since the PKR and this past March, I had the PKR revised to a TKR. 18 months after the oriiginal surgery, I started getting pains in the rest of my knee due to arthritis where there hadn't been any when I had the PKR. Because my other knee had a TKR in April 2010, I had to have the PKR knee be my good knee for a while, which it really didn't like, and arthritis progressed more. By January, 2011, my PKR was miserable and on March 2, 2011, the same ortho who put in the PKR implant took it out and put in a TKR implant. I know other people whom I met here on KG who have since had their PKRs revised to totals or are about to have it done.
