ive just come to the forum to ask is it normal that i cant straighten my leg whn doing leg raises on the floor.

they stay straight until about 50 or 60 degrees and it hurts to try and get them to 90 straight.

1. You do not say what your problem is so it is hard for anyone to respond. More info would be useful if you really want some help!

2. SLRs do not need to be so high if you are talking angles there! Tense your foot by pulling the toes back towards your body, tense the calf quad and as you raise the leg, the hamstrings.

You only need to lift your leg a little maybe somewhere between 20 to 30 and to maintain the tension through out the lift. Better to lift a little and hold rather than raise it like a flag and tuck it behind your ear  ;D The aim being to re-educate your muscles to fire on command, not audition for a contortionist peek show! You need to be looking at eliminating the "lag" between the uooer leg engaging and the lower leg raising. This is obvious - if there is any bend at the knee you have a "lag" and you need to work on your static quad strength.
