Synvisc / Prolozone therapy
« on: November 01, 2008, 07:25:54 PM »
Here are my problems - severe degeneration of my spine - 2 discs gone! lots of pain - seems to be sciatic going on too.  Also have 2 bad knees, one rated severe, the other just behind it.  I'm 52, female.  I can't walk well, can't do anything strenous.  Can't exercise, can't shop, can't even clean my home properly.  Gave up a great career because I can't stay on my feet for more than mere minutes.  Have numbness on the side of one knee - unexplained.  Have ankle swelling, same leg, some numbness when walking.

I'm a physical mess, I've tried to delay knee surgery, even doing the synvisc injections - which gave me about 3 weeks of relief.  I almost even climbed 2 stairs without pulling myself up.

Right now I'm miserable and in more pain than ever before.  I'm told they don't want to do my knees because my back is bad.  I'm told back surgery success is only about 30%.

At this point I can't just randomly do surgeries to see if they work.  What I'd like is to get this synvisc out of my system because I truly believe it has made me much worse.  I would also like to hear from anyone about prolozone treatment?  What is it?  Does it help?  Is it just for knees, just for back.... I need help and advice.  Please.
