knee problem, wondering if its doctor worthy
« on: October 16, 2008, 12:50:13 PM »
ok, well basically sometimes my knee will click wen i bend it, then if i straighten my leg out it clicks again and is ok, i never went to the doctor about this as it ws never anything serious. But then yesterday i was playing football for about an hour and i was running with the ball and suddenly my knee jus clicked lke it does sometimes, but then i had to stop running, as i cudnt straighten it. I thought if i jus straightened right there it may click again and be ok but it jus hurt so i went off and sat down. i couldnt straighten it or put anyweight on it, and now today it has gotten worse, my knee will now bend less than it could yesterday and wen i try to i physical cant and it hurts alot. when i leave it bent it doesnt exactly hurt, it just aches. I was wondering whether anyone knew if this is doctor worthy as my parents, are old fashioned and think it should just get better in time. thanks for any help or tips you can give.

Sounds like a typical meniscus tear, but could also be a loose piece of cartilage interfering.
Swelling can also prevent from full extension.
Should definately be checked by an OS (orthopedic surgeon) specialized on knees.
Surgery 6 times left knee torn meniscus, RSDS,chondromalacia, nervdamage cause constant nervpain, chronic inflamm.
Spinaldamage wheeler 100%.
Right knee damaged aug-06, use brace surgery 4/9-07.LCL tear.

I totally agree with Nettan - needs to be checked out by a doctor.  Preferably an os - ask around, have your folks ask around and start making calls.  eagle

I agree as well. Those were some of the symptoms I had when my meniscus was torn.
