Cycling post operation after acl lcl and poster lateral reconstruction

I have undergone an acl, lcl and poster lateral reconstruction of my right knee on 12th june 2008. I am 4 months post op, my consultant has instructed no open chain exercises yet, no hamstring exercises yet except for bridging. Also I am not allowed to hyper extend right leg for 6 months post op as it could stretch or rupture graft.

My question really concerns stationary bicycle use, as I bought one for the operation. He has stated I can use it but only vaguely instructed me stating start with 5 minutes on a low setting and go up from there. I just donít know how much up from there is, is there a limit to tension and time cycling that I should not exceed. I can easily do 10 minutes but at a low level, I am just scared of increasing it as I donít know whether I will damage the graft.

Is it possible to damage the graft cycling at any intensity even say at level 1 or 2, even for as long as half an hour. As my legs are getting very restless, I feel like my legs need to do something I canít describe it really, almost a restless leg feeling.
