Outer knee pain - need some help
« on: October 05, 2008, 08:37:43 PM »

I had to come off in my football match yesterday because of pain to the lower outside of the right knee. This wasn't an impact injury, recently after games as my leg has stiffened up i have been feeling this pain, but it usually wears off with some rest. Yesterday and for the first time i felt it during the match and hours later as my leg stiffened again the pain was quite bad whilst i walked and during any bending actions. This morning it is no worse, possibly a little better, but not good all the same. The pain is on the outer side of the knee, about 2 inches down from the tip of the cap and it hurts to press. Any idea what this is and how i can get it better? Not sure if it is related, but, my hamstrings have been very tight recently after matches, no pain during the games, but, no matter how much i stretch i always seem to wake up to them feeling tight and sore.

Any help or advise would be brilliant, many thanks.
