Chondromalacia and Patellar Malalignment
« on: October 05, 2008, 04:38:23 PM »
I seem to have both chondromalacia (crunching sound in my knee, but generally no pain) and patellar malalignment (knee has moved some to the outside of my leg). I believe I injured myself by jogging after a long layoff and then perhaps stupidly aggravated it by playing tennis. I am doing leg exercises, taping, and wearing a brace. My knee seems to be getting better. Walking upstairs was almost impossible; now there is only mild discomfort. What is the relationship between the chondromalacia and the patellar malalignment? If the patellar malalignment is corrected, can I expect to still suffer from chondromalacia?
