post-op back-up
« on: September 26, 2008, 06:26:04 PM »
Hi - 1st timer! :)
I'm a month post op after an ACL recon -hamstring graft.
Seems to be going well, off pain-killers and crutches. Doing the physio stuff, cycling in gym etc.

Can any one reccomend any complimentary stuff -  acupuncture, specific massage of any kind, qi gong? Anything at all to enhace and speed the recovery. And of course anything I should definitely avoid.

Welcome!  I'm not familiar with your specific injury, but in general terms I would say to listen to your PT, when in doubt, ask the doc, and if the doc okays it, go for the massage.  My biggest issue is swelling and the massage makes all the difference.

The main thing I avoid is cats...the reason I ended up on this site. (Dog saw cat, I went down!)

Good luck on your recovery.
