So good to hear you cracking jokes and more upbeat Laura.  Pregnancy must agree with you.  Congrats by the way!  Is your MIL happy now?  Wasn't she the one that was originally saying "Why don't you get over this knee stuff and have a baby?"

$130 a week for PT?  Ouch!  That's worse than I was paying when the insurance company cut me off.  I take it you didn't win your battle with the insurance company then?  Sorry, I haven't been following all of your posts.  I just hop in here once in a while.

It's really good to see your posts again and know you are still progressing.  We were worried about you for a while.  Keep up the good work!

Hi Laura,

That sucks you have to pay $130 a week. Do you really need to go that often ? I would have thought you wouldn't need to go that often so long post-op. I reckon your PT may be over servicing. Just a thought. Can you negotiate with your PT to reduce the fee considering your insurance isn't covering it ?

My physio has told me that I have to work through some of the pain to get my strength. It's only when an exercise is extremely painful that I have to stop doing it.

Keep up the good work !!!  :D

Hi Laura,

Thanks for posting on my thread  :)

I'm so excited for you about having a boy, have you thought of any names yet?

High heels! wow that must have felt so great even if you were a little wobbly, must have been worse if the boat was moving, I can stand on boats normally let alone in heels so you did fab!  ;D

I'm glad to hear that you are progressing, hang in there you will get there in the end.

Take care

Wow Laura-

A baby boy!  Congratulations.  That's very cool!

I remembered that you posted from the hospital...did the hosp have wireless?  I am having my TKR on 2 Sept and really hope my hospital has wireless.  Some of the people I've asked have argued that 'no hospitals have wireless' because it interferes with their equipment.  Not sure, but I'm really hoping I will be able to get on and post my progress and share bedpan stories!!  hehe

How did you find out whether or not there was wireless??  My hospital is a mere 10 minutes away from my house...I guess I could drive over there and sit in the waiting room and see, huh?

I'm anxious about my surgery...nervous and excited.  I have heard nothing (absolutely nothing) negative about my surgeon.  I have faith in him and most of the people that I have talked to (that have also had TKR) report very positive results.

I love your story about wearing heels on the cruise!!!  I would have been doing the same thing.  I had to go out and buy flats to wear with dresses...although they make me look like an incredibly old lady.  My grandson said I looked like Mrs. Doubtfire!  Thanks kiddo!

Anyway, I'm going to see what I can accomplish today.  I am trying to have everything in order....you know the routine.  Talk to you later and take care of the bun in the oven!!  Smooches.  Kathy

Hi, Laura.
Any chance you could grace us with some news of your post-kneegeek life?
I hope you are doing beautifully--with the new baby, and the new knee!
You were one of the most positive forces for me when I was down--did you know that?
Thank you for all that you did.
Now that we are both better, I'd still just love to hear your news.
Whatdya say?  ;)
All the best to you, the hubby and the baby(s??),

Hi all!    Ive not been here in years.  But... Oddly have had several
Requests for info on my knee / surgeon in the last few months!    Ive had 2 babies now.  A boy is 4.5 and a girl is 18 months.   The knee still works.  Ive never resumed any formal exercise ir sports due to pregnancies/ babies/ life is busy.   I still cant kneel unless its on an extremely soft surface and only at partial weight.  I can swim without any dislocations.  I can easily carry and lift one or both of my kids 40 +22  pounds) i can walk all day.  Ive not tried running.    My knee aches occasionally, but I never take meds.   I rarely have that old shooting pain down my outer calf.   I rarely think about my knee.   I still mourn the loss of  running like the loss of an old friend.   Maybe someday... Sigh.    Hope u are all well and happy!
