My first broken bone was my TPF (age 45), making up for lost time. I figured that if you have to break a bone then you might as well do a good job  :-X, I had my first surgery late last year, minor op to remove a fatty lump then in March 2 x TPF surgeries to put humpty back together (plate and 6 screws), oh well the only way is up now  :P
7th Mar 08 - Pedestrian hit by car
10th Mar 08 - TPF (Plate + 6 screws)
12th Mar 08 - TPF Revision
Feb 09: Hardware removed + scope
Jun 10: ACI Stage I
Aug 10: ACI II (Stanmore)
Oct  11 - MRI + Scope (In pain)
Aug 12 - MRI + Scope (In more pain)
Sep 12 - TKR ruled out :(

Hi
I am a newbie.

I am sitting in my recliner with a spiral fracture of the 5th metatarsal along with a few other fractures in my left foot.  My first broken bone in 63 years.  It hurts hurts and hurts.  :P

I had a hip resurfacing to replace my left hip 2 years ago and this hurts more! I was walking on one crutch at 4 days and sight seeing in Belgium at 5 days post op.  I had no health insurance and had to travel to Belgium to have my hip resurfacing.

This broken foot is worse than a hip replacement!!!!!

Hi

I broke my leg in 4 places jumping horses in Aug 2000. That started the nightmare I have been living ever since with 13 surgeries and arthrofibrosis. My story is too long to repost, so you can read it thru my blog on the Hub.

nose was broken by surgeon to fix a deviated septum.
After that it's been 4 more times in sports.  Twice in softball,Once by a catcher in softball saying hi to me in the batters box and threw the ball into my nose pushing it over in front of my right eye  :-X That one took 2 balloons up the nostrils and metal caps to stop the bleeding once they put it back in place. Dr said the fractures  looked like a river with lots of tributaries. Hockey and basketball contributed to 2 more breaks.
In spite of that it doesn't look too bad.

Broke a finger when trying to put a screen in a window and it came slamming down on it.

Collarbone in a pickup basketball game from a guys elbow coming down on me trying to block my shot.
partial meniscus removal, posterior horn of medial meniscus tear, horizontal cleavage type. Dec. O4
Age 56
back to cross country skiing and biking.

Oh man, I really had to think about that!

I am 18 so far I have broken,

#1 Right Collar bone falling off horse
#2 Right Humerus bone falling off horse dislocated the right collar bone in the same accident, it was a bad one
Breaking the humerus bone was AWFUL! I think it caused me more pain than having my leg derotated!
#3 Doc broke the femur for the derotation

Countless toes, lol, those horses love to step on them!

My first broken bone, was my cheek bone when I was about 11.  I started a trend that day of breaking lots of bones.

In no particular order

Cheek bone
Nose
Pinky finger
Toe
Wrist (3 times)
Hip
Rib (twice)

I'm gonna say the hip was the worst, I couldn't sit normal for like 6 monthes.  Going to the bathroom was horrible! HAh

The summer I turned 8, I broke my right foot and two toes and spent my summer in bed with a pink leg cast (they said it would be close to purple in color but it wasn't! and I didn't much care for pink >.<).

My memories of that summer are laying in bed with my foot elevated watching tv (lots of Get Smart reruns, yes, I was a strange child) and hating having to crutch to the bathroom...it reminds me of now but without the Get Smart....
