Arthritis after Mosaicplasty
« on: August 08, 2003, 06:45:59 PM »
Currently six months post op with Mosaicplasty and HTO being done.

Does anyone have links I can read with info on the incidence of arthritis after having the knee surgery.  What are the chances of having arthritis appear in the knee?  If it appears how long till it does?

I lost a piece of Cartliage approx the size of a quarter.  Reattachment failed as did the microfracture done around the reattached cartilage.  They inserted three plugs during the mosaicplasty.

Overall I'd rate the surgery a success.  The knee still swells like a ballon if I push the therapy to hard.  Occasioanlly the knee will still hurt to bad to walk on, however, that is maybe once every couple weeks.  I'd personally say the Osteotomy was the worst of the two procedures.  The pain was very difficult to deal with.
