Hi, can anyone shine some light on my poor knee!! over the past month it has been very painful for no apparent reason, I have not injured it it just started to become painful when i knelt down, I am no unable to sit back on my knees and have to have it straight out in front of me when i sit down or am in bed, and now over the last 2 days it has become difficult to weight bear, if i put weight on it and try to walk it feels like it is going to snap like it is unable to stop itself from straightening if this makes any sense
Please help i'm only 28 and have a 10 month old baby who has started to crawl

Hi Laurakate80,
If the has knee become so bad that you finding hard to put weight on your knees then you should be seeing your GP or local A&E department as its not good to leave it the way it is. Seek medical advise and they will decide what action to take and if you should see an OS straight away
Hope it works out ok for you and let us know how you get on.

Hi Laurakate,
I know you're hoping someone can give you an idea of what's wrong, but the best advice any of us can offer is to get yourself to a qualified knee specialist to get it checked out. There are many different things that can go wrong with knees and the symptoms of various injuries often are very similar. I'm afraid I can't think of anything specific that fits your symptoms. This does sound like something fairly serious, though and I would absolutely advise having it looked at.

Afraid I agree with the others, whilst we KneeGeeks can offer support and shares our experiences, your worsening symptoms need professional help. It usually takes awhile to get a consult with a specialist after you've gotten a referral from your GP, so I would suggest going to your hospital's emergency room. You might have to wait awhile for treatment, so arrange for someone to babysit. Something is definately going on inside your knee and it's better to find out what that is now, rather than waiting and have the symptoms get worse. Keep us posted, you'll find the people on this site a great support.
