I think you have to post a certain amount before you can PM.

I have not yet tried the chocolate mint frapp but I'll be at Starbucks today...

Yup, Cat, you have to post 20 times, so Amb, I think you should be able to PM now. lol. I couldn't figure it out either, and then one day, I could PM. It was really weird. lol.

I like Cat, would love to see your before and after pics! I like you am a twistee. Here is a link to my pics if you want to check them out:
http://s266.photobucket.com/albums/ii244/Lyndsey200/

Do my your legs look like mine? Mine are pretty crooked, and I know exactly what you mean about being the show for the office. I didn't mind it though. I just wish they knew what to do about it. I went through at least 8 OS's before I found Dr. T. The first OS I showed my legs too went, "Holy Crap, you need to see a specialist!" That wasn't good, and it went like that until I finally found Dr. T.

I know it has already been asked, and you seem to know the degree of rotation of your tibia. Do you know what the degree of rotation was for your femurs, before and after??? I know mine before were at 67 degrees. My left is still there, and the right has been derotated. I was just wondering what your degree was on your femur. My tibias are at 35 degrees of rotation, and I hope I don't need them derotated. Dr. T said I won't know for sure until both my femurs are rotated.

When did you know you needed your tibia done? Was it right after you had one femur derotated or both? Did it take a while or did you know after surgery?

Take care!

LOL, I'm not/wasn't pigeon toed either.  Think that's because the femur twisted one way and the tibia twisted the other way. Now I have one foot facing forwards and the other foot turns out.
I don't even like coffee but I DO so LOVE those caramel frappachinos. I'm off to have one in a bit!
BTW, how did you come to find the KG site?

Thanks for the pictures Cat! Its interesting he did your left leg, as your measurements were slightly better however that is the one with the TTT which impacted you medially?
I did a search on the web on the femoral de-rotation and there was a post by a woman whose child with cerebral palsy who needed the operation and the doc explained the external tibial torsion is some type of adaptation for the knees rotating in, i.e. some type of nature's compensation.   Not sure what I think about that as my left femur is more rotated than the right, however it is on the right leg I have the external tibial torsion.

I just totally got the runt of the litter genes.

Well, since Cat started it I will stick before and after pics here too. lol.

Here is before:

Here is after:

You can see now my left is really crooked, and the right I had the derotation done on is pretty straight. My foot sticks out a little when my knee is straight, but I don't mind. I think the results are pretty spectacular, and I want my left derotated as soon as possible.

Later!

WOAH...Lynds OMGoodness!!!

That is a HUGE, GINORMOUS difference...I bet you feel BILLIONS of BILLIONS of times better :P

Wow...that's the worst I think I've ever seen.....

There was a girl in Teitge's office who had an appointment w/ him while I was in there (the day I found out he wanted to do surgery again) and she was going to have her femurs worked on, and Kathy came in and asked if I'd had it done, to which I rolled my eyes and said "Yeah, you should remember!" LOL Anyway, she wanted to ask me if I thought it'd be worth it and I was like "OMG yeah!!!" and kind of told the girl (she was younger...probably a teenager) a little bit about the whole thing and she said "thanks, I guess I'll go ahead and do it" so it sounded like my like, 'insight' I guess, made her decision. *YAY* I think she was going to do it this summer so hopefully, if she did, Kris told her about this site and she'll be on at some point :P

I'm still trying to find pictures...they're not as good as ya'lls cos I'd never thought of doing specific before and afters but I'll do my bestest.

xoxo

Yea, I was really twisted up. I can't wait to have the left done! I do feel TONS better. The hip pain post op is nothing compared to how bad my knee felt constantly before. I am really happy so far with the outcome, and am sure I will continue to be.

I wouldn't have thought of before and after pics either, had it not been for talking to Cat before the surgery. She suggested them and I was like, wow, thats a great idea. That and Dr. T LOVES pictures. He was so happy I took all these before and after pics. lol.

Cat here on the board was a great influence in my decision to have the derotation, and boy am I ever glad I did. Cat also referred me to Dr. T so for that I will be forever grateful! Thanks Cat! lol!

Hey, hows it going? It sounds like your swelling is pretty bad.  :-\ I hope it goes down soon. Has it been this bad the whole time, or did it just get worse? Keep us updated!
