Swelling grinding and general knee pain
« on: July 20, 2002, 11:32:11 PM »
Hi,

Hoping someone can help??

My wife has had a lateral release approx 18 months ago, all has gone reasnobly well, no recent collapses or dislocations,  After just having our first baby 3 months ago she has recently gone back to work which involves standing on the same spot for periods of time, she's a chef.  Her leg has blown up like a balloon and she is getting a lot of crunching and grinding and is petrified of seeing any medical staff as she has had similar operations on both knees at the age of 14. Any advice or help please.  I've seen a  TTT op mentioned on the forum, what is that, does it come after an LR, does it work?  Thanks, Ellis. ???

How nice I'm not the only one that doesn't know the terms of EVERYTHING!!! :P
A TTT is a TTT is Tibial Tubercal transfer. I asked the question myself last night. However, I still have no clue what that procedure actually involves.
I had a high tibial osteotomy. My leg was collapsing in and had no strength. They took out a portion of bone, broke my tibia and put a metal wedge in to correct the damage :o
I think a TTT is similar. We need a place with all the terms and their initals.
Take Care , Allison

Take a look at my post in this section entitled "Know your procedure". I posted a link that explains TTT's and various other realignment procedures.
