I REALLY REALLY want to go!
« on: August 01, 2003, 03:28:21 PM »
Hi,

I am due to go to a concert in 3 weeks time.  My problem is that my ticket is for the standing area and I don't know if I'll be able to stand all night.  The screw from my TTT is coming out and I'm due to go in early September to have it removed.  I REALLY want to go to this concert as I've waited over 4 years to see this group who are my favourite and I'm totally fed up missing out on everything because of my knees.  I'm wondering if I should strap the knee up and take pain killers.  Anybody with any suggestions on how to make it through the night?  :-/

Natalie.

Hi Natalie,

I can understand your concern about the concert, obviously you really want to go but your knee has to be a consideration and priority. The only thing I could suggest is maybe in conjuction with a letter form your OS or PT explaiing your problems, you contact the venue or organisers of the events and discuss it with them. It doens't always work, but they might be prepared to help you out some how - it's worth a try anyway.

I hope that you find a way to still make it Drala nd that your screw removal goes well - when is that scheduled for? Take care.

Love and hugs....Jo

Hi Jo,

I haven't got an appointment through yet but my OS said it would be early September.  I might try calling the venue and explaining the situation, you never know, they might be able to accommodate me somehow.

Hi!

I'm willing to bet there is a way to get you to the concert and all of the fun that you deserve--I'd give the doc a call as well andexplain this situation.  that is your best source of support and info.

Be really careful with that fragile knee as you do this--concerts are high energy/ activity events.

Most of all, have fun and be sure to share that part with us ;)

Take care, Sylvia
