Knee Problems in 1966!!!
« on: July 29, 2003, 12:15:43 AM »
I can hardly believe that I have found such an informative site like this! When I first had my knee problem {1966} the Internet wasn't around. Just for info, I had a menisectomy, the muscles tightened & knee re-positioned. I had to stay in hospital an entire month, came home on crutches & had to 'learn' to walk again! I was left with a long scar around the outside of the knee too. Boy have things progressed ::)  ;D

Hi and welcome, Riciamarn,

Knee treatments and possibilities were a lot different  in the 60's and 70's.  I remember my dad having his first knee surgery around then and they removed his cartilage because it was torn or something.  i rem, ember it being a pretty awful thing--I was kind of young, but some things stay in your mind.

I hope that you can find useful information here--this board has been a lifesaver to many of us--in both information and support.

It's nice to meet you, Sylvia
