About to have Keyhole Op
« on: April 01, 2008, 11:55:53 AM »
Hi All i am scheduled to have Keyhole in a couple of weeks to repair my MCL and under my knee. Does anyone know roughly how long it takes to recover from keyhole.

I know that is must be different for everyone. I am 28 and in good health other than the knee

By keyhole I assume you mean arthroscopic surgery. Recovery time is entirely dependent on what gets done in your knee and your own pain tolerance. Not all arthroscopic surgeries are the same. Sometimes you get extensive repair that requires a long recovery and sometimes there's just a general cleanup that takes less than a month of recovery. I've had four scopes and for the most part was back to normal within a month. I was walking at varying intervals from one to seven days.
