New Here - lateral knee bulge/pain
« on: January 30, 2008, 08:49:02 PM »
Hi threre.  Headed to the doctor Friday.  Anyone ever have a bulge about the diameter of a golf ball, slightly above the knee and lateral?  Achy but no sharp pain.

I had that for about a month on the same spot but mine was after a surgery.  Did you run into something?

I don't recall an injury.  I recall when it started hurting about a month ago, but since I have some chronic mild hip/knee pain I didn't think much of it other than it hurt more than normal. I didn't notice the lump/swelling/mass until a few days ago.

Well, its hard to say.  You will hear from everyone on this site......rest it, ice it, compress it....elevate it above your heart.   Try some Advil if you are allowed to take that and lay off any heavy activity and see if it gets better.

Hopefully someone with the same thing will help you out on the post!

Well, as carpooling mom of 5, don't know how the rest is going to happen. ;)  The odd thing is that it has been bothering me for over a month, but I have just now discovered the lump.
