Heat in knee
« on: January 19, 2008, 06:00:21 PM »
My knee gets red and hot.  Occasionally this happens after exercise, but it mostly happens after standing for a while or while doing normal walking (nothing extreme).  This happened before surgery and I am now 6 months into recovery from a LR and it is continuing.  I am on an anti-inflammatory and I do ice my knee after exercise.  Is this something I should be concerned about?  My doctor doesnít say much about it. Another doctor says I have the beginnings of arthritis. I donít know if I am just going too hard and I should rest more or if something else is causing this.

sounds like its getting inflamed? no great surprise that little activity brings it on after an LR - perhaps your quads are being lazy in the low range of extension and its causing some internal stress on the joint? my knee gets red and hot when i overdo stuff, but occasionally standing brings it on - for that reason.
id say press the point with your OS to get an answer.
1986 - recurrent dislocations of right patella began
1988 - Modified Hauser Procedure
1991 - dislocations started again
2005 to 2007 - 150 dislocations in 2 years - OUCH!!!
June 2007 - new OS, new physio
Oct 2007 - VMO woke up
Mar 2008 - big quads, still dislocating
Apr 2008 - next OS app
