help?!
« on: January 05, 2008, 11:45:07 PM »
Hi Guys :)

Cuttin a long story short... on christmas day i stood up from sittin on a chair when my right knee locked....a good true lock, it wouldnt extend or flex. The pain was excrutiating! i went to a&e were they unlocked it for me, but the doctor really yanked at it to straighten it out, the crunching, cracking sound turned my stomach. The pain eased but im still in pain now, i have an appointment to see an OS on the 18th Jan but i just havent a clue what has happened to my knee!

I have had scopes on both knee in March 07' and my right knee has a history of locking,no tears were found. But this time seemed so much worse and took alot more to unlock, the cracking sound never happens...until now.

Any clues?!

Hopefully you didn't tear something.  Do you have swelling?  Dull pain or sharp.  Take it easy on the knee until you see the specialist and get an MRI.  Good luck until then.
12/89 R knee scope for lateral release & patella shaving.
06/07 R knee scope for meniscus repair & bone spur removal.
08/07 R knee fluid removal & cortisone injection.
09-12/07 - R knee unloader brace and PT.
01/08 R knee HTO.

Thanks for your reply,
i didnt notice any swelling, however they sent me home with a cricket splint on, i didnt really want to look at my knee so i couldnt really say if there was swelling or not. There isnt now any way  :) Ive got a constant dull pain which feels quite deep and sharp pains here and there about the knee  :(
