Can't put weight on left knee when kneeling
« on: January 03, 2008, 03:26:54 AM »
Hi-
New here....I seem to have done something to my left knee.  I thought it was weight related since it has sounded like a box of crackers for so long.  ( I gained 40ibs. when I ruptured 5 disks in my back).  My knee cap catches a little when it torques.  I have a muscular pain at the top of the back side of my calf.  The knee throbs, but does not hurt to walk on.  Stairs are painful. When I attempt to kneel or put weight on the left knee, during yoga, it feels like it is going to explode.   It will hold no weight at all.  I am dumbfounded.  Any suggestions?

Could be that you have gained weight and the knee can't take that, but could also be other problems.
Why not get the knee checked by a OS specialized on knees ?
Surgery 6 times left knee torn meniscus, RSDS,chondromalacia, nervdamage cause constant nervpain, chronic inflamm.
Spinaldamage wheeler 100%.
Right knee damaged aug-06, use brace surgery 4/9-07.LCL tear.

Jak,

I agree with Nettan.  Better to have it checked out now before anything serious shows up.

Me three, could be a number of things or just simply the weight gain but I don't know about that.  Do you know an OS in your area?  If you do I would go.  Better to have it checked out than to put it off.

Good Luck,

I would certain agree with the other posters and recommend you seeking out an Orthopedic Surgeon for that knee.  It certainly seems when one body part gets out of wack the other limbs compensate.

I have pains when going up stairs and when getting up from a chair in my natural knee. I got visosupplementation to help it along and hold off another knee replacement.

My OS always advises me  never kneel on a hard surface only on a cushion be it the natural knee or the  replaced knee.

It's worth the piece of mind to go get it checked out than to hurt yourself even more than suffer the loss of mobility

Knee problems are def not a delight. Most times you got to go to hell to get to heaven.
