Hi all
I have 3 bouts of trouble with my left knee (this is the 3rd). Both previous occasions started when i was hill walking with the second time putting me on crutches for about a month. Both times the diagnosis was basically " its irritated it will go away". After the second time the knee always felt weaker. Over time (months) the pain went but when i was on my bike it always had a feeling of weakness about it. It never really hurt that much but just didnt feel right. Anyway i recently started running, i covered up to 10k with no problems. Due to recuring back spasms i had video gate analysis carried out that told me i overpronate. New shoes and inserts sorted this out on the video.
I ran again in the new year and my knee pain is back. I was diagnosed with chondromalacia pattella. This was done by a physio. Everytime the symptoms have been the same. A feeling of grit behind the knee. If a pencil was pushed into the inside of the leg behind the knee cap about 1 inch then that would be the spot. It always hurt more going down steps/slopes and up (but a lot less). No pain on moving the cap either pushing down or around, just movement of the joint (flexing the leg).
Anyway does this sound about right and finally what section deals with this on the site?.
Many thanks.
