Bio-absorbable screws....

I had basic ACL reconstruction surgery in January this year.  Now a bump has appeared at the souture point which my surgeon says is the screw which he used that was rejected by my body thus creating a cyst.   He says this will likely require more surgery to remove the bump.  The pain is present, but not unbearable.  Has anyone else ever had a similar experience?  Thanks...

I had one of my screws removed a year after my ACLr. It was no big deal. The other one is still in there after 17 years. Four days ago I had a screw removed from my ankle that had been there for seven years and started to work its way out.
