Pain behind knee/top of calf
« on: September 25, 2007, 06:20:00 PM »
Hi i am experiencing pain at the back of my knee/top of calf, i got the pain after playing football (i didn't notice straining it or anything)  i feel the most pain coming down the stairs or when pulling my foot out of my boots i can't really feel it too much when walking, i was just wondering if it could be anything serious.

thanks for any advice

Doesn't have to be something that comes from knee really. Any problems with foot before ?
Have you tried to gently stretch or massage but first using some heat on ? Have any swelling ?
Surgery 6 times left knee torn meniscus, RSDS,chondromalacia, nervdamage cause constant nervpain, chronic inflamm.
Spinaldamage wheeler 100%.
Right knee damaged aug-06, use brace surgery 4/9-07.LCL tear.

You may have what is called a Bakers Cyst.  Its a pocket of fluid that builds up behind the knee.  Its nothing serious unless it keeps giving you problems.  I've had one for about 5yrs.  Sometimes the fluid disloves over time, but if it gets worse you can have it drained by ortho.  If it gets worse I would make an apt to see your doctor.  Hope this helps. :)
