Persistant knee problems
« on: September 23, 2007, 10:12:04 PM »
Two years ago I tore my ACL on my right knee and had a re-constructive op and rehabilitation. The operation went well and 9 months later I was back to full movement and general fitness.

However, for no apparent reason my left knee is now beginning to swell and hurt after runs of 30 mins or more. Pain is located on the outer of the left knee just below the kneecap, a sharp stabbing pain that suddenly comes on.

Has anyone suffered any similar symptoms as I am wondering whether I've done some damage to my left knee compensating from the treatment on the left?

Any advice appreciated.

Regards
Kevin

Kevin -

I wish I could say for sure.  I personally have always had recurring issues, due to the overcompensation after an injury and subsequent surgery. Of all the things I've done to my knees, tearing an ACL is not one of them.  But I hope that everything is ok, and your OS fixes you up!

Good Luck!  :)
