My first patella dislocation was in 1989 when I was in 4th grade. My first surgeries was 2 years later when my right knee dislocated and a piece of my patella was chipped off. So it's been 18 years of constant worrying and pain. Wow, that's not depressing.

When I was 19 I was in a car accident.

I was hit by a 16 year old who had his license 2 weeks, and ran a stop sign at over 55 mph.
He apparently was showing off to the other 5 teens in the car.  >:(

So 18 years for me.

18 years - 7 surgeries and 2 manipulations.

I've had Chrondomalacia Patella since I was ten, I had a growth spurt and it screwed my knees up :( Docs said that I would grow out of it as I 'left puberty' (his terms not mine) and eight years later it's a lot worse. It got especially worse after my surgry on my right knee, in which it made the right knee very bad and through that my left knee got worse too.

I had acupuncture once a week for the past six weeks and that made it deteriorate further so I'm not having anymore of that! Haha.

I've been told that it's probably not CP anymore and am seeing a specialist on Wednesday.

And I'm also about to quit university (I'm studying childcare) as I can't do the placements anymore or walk up the stairs to my classroom :/

I suppose you'll all understand having your lives run by knee problems hm?

I've only had knee problems since July '07.  It was from a soccer injury.
-July '07-soccer injury
- microfracture of the tibial plateau
- arthroscopy in Oct. '07 (remove torn cartilage and repair microfracture)
-developed AF but beat it (avoided surgery)

i fell on knee in aug 2004, had first major problem with it in april 2005, had arthroscopy in july 2005 (which was a lovely birthday present for me!) never been better since and had numerous mri's inj's and xray and lots of physio.
have been on 2 crutches and unable to do a thing for myself since march 2007 and still no one knows what ups.

so all in all its been about 4 yrs since i did the damage and 3 yrs since i the problems started. and im sure its gonna be a long time to go yet until its fixed if it ever is as they still dont know what the problem is.

i thought i had it bad being 3-4yrs but i feel SO sorry for all youze who've been suffering for years and years.

but I fell on my knee when I was 12. sooooo that would be 13 years of knee pain for me.

30 years, ever since i flew off a drop off on a motorcycle. i was 27. i feel like my whole adult life has been directed by my knee. even so, i don't hate it. the whole experience has been kind of interesting and also humbling.

Mine started in or around 1978. Mostly all related to skiing accidents, but refused to listen to the surgeons  :'(. I never accepted my age and always tried to out do all of the younger ones and some my age. I guess they all now have the last laugh.
