knee flexion problem
« on: August 23, 2007, 08:44:11 PM »
Age: 19
Gender: Male

hi. i have been having some knee flexion problems. when i try to bend my knee, i cant make my thighs touch my heels.
I dont know why but, i feel as if my bones are touching, and i feel slight pain. when i try to pull in my leg for a squatting position, my knees just stop bending at some point. I started having this problem after my puberty, and was wondering if anyone in the forum had a simular problem...
I dont remember having any previous injuries to my knees..
I also went to a bone doctor (with mri picture) and all he told me was that my cartillage between my bones are thinned out than average.

any solutions?

Hi,

I think you should ask your GP or family doctor for a referral to an OS who specialises in knees. A bone doctor you saw before may have specialised in knees of younger people nd you are still very young to be having problems. However, now your knees are physically mature it may be worth having a fresh pair of eyes look at your knee problems again. Physio may help a little, but the lack of cartilage should also be addressed.

Please get other opinions, both from doctors and others on this board. I have the same problem with my left knee but for very different reasons so you need to be aware that here we can only offer our own thoughts and opinions. Just because someone has experienced something similar doesn't mean that they suffer with the same complaint.

Take care,

I seem to be having the same issues with my left knee, RICE should help you a bit... and I know what it's like to be young and having knee issues... are you very active ?
