looking for help fractured patella
« on: July 31, 2007, 10:59:03 PM »
??? I fractured my knee cap back in Feb(work related). On July 12th I had my leg scoped. I have a small fracture 20mm x15mm on the patella and cartilage missing on the femur 23mm x 18mm. The worse part about the fracture is the location, It's where the knee cap and the femur slide together. I am bone on bone when I hit 118 degrees of flex. For those of you with bone on bone issues you know how this feels! My doctor wants to try a procedure that uses artificial plugs (OBI tru fit plugs). He has only done one of these operations and so far four month post-op the guy is doing fine. My work requires me to lift heavy items and a lot of kneeling and squatting. I am a heavy equipment mechanic. My doctor did let me know that this procedure should get me into my fifties where he would be more comfortable going with a TKR. Anyone else out there in or was in this situation?
