Eeep. Is that just the cost of the surgeon or the whole thing? That's a lot if it's just a scope. Don't forget you also have to pay the anesthesiologist, the hospital, pathologist if they send anything to the lab, radiologist if they take pictures, etc. And then you have to pay for all the drugs they give you and all the equipment they use. If that's the cost for everything then it's not bad.

The cost for my PKR was about $43,000. The titanium knee alone was $19,000. Geesh, you can get a set of titanium golf clubs for around $3000. Of course the insurance company pays about half that and the rest gets written off by doctors, hospitals, etc. What a racket. Thankfully, I didn't have to pay a cent.

And I LOVE CAnada...
We might have to wait a bit, but we never see a bill except for prescription drugs, braces that kind of thing.
Hope the arthroscopy helps you.. as that's alot of money to shell out...
Fingers crossed

Guess I have the best of both worlds. I didn't see a bill for my PKR and I got to pick the day, time, doctor and hospital.

My surgery was under the Workers Comp.  system, the hospital bill was $10,500, the WC ins. co got a hospital credit of $4000.(Just because it was an insurance co. If I were to pay out of my own pocket it would have been the full amount.) The OS dr. bill for the inital visits, surgery, and follow up visits was nearly $6,000. The PT was nearly $2000 for about 25 visits. The anesthestis(sp) was the cheap one at only $300.

This was in southern Georgia,US.
