Can patella tendon transfer be reversed?
« on: August 05, 2007, 06:59:39 PM »
My ortho recommended that I have patella tendon transfers on both knees before he would replace my arthritic knees.  Within 5 years, both knees had to be replaced anyway.  What I was NOT told was that after the PTT, I would no longer be able to kneel.  This makes it real hard to get up off the floor if you can't use your knees.  Can the patella tendon transfer be reversed after bilateral knee replacement? Where can I find info on this?  Thanks!

Is it because of the screws (or where they were)?? I learnt kneeling in another way after my TTT, I kneeled directly on my tendon, just below the kneecap, and not on the TT. Try it! First on soft floor or a cushion, then on hard floor. Now I can kneel ON the screws without any problem (they are still sitting in my knee) and even on very hard surfaces!

Hope this helps!
