These are the normal 3 views. Lateral is self explanatory. I can only assume the previous one wasn't done properly because the lateral is a true lateral unless done incorrectly. Weight bearing is an AP (or frontal) view of the knee with you standing (this shows narrowing of the articular space better) and a skyline is one of the patella taken with the knee bent with the x-ray beam along the line of your leg to show the articular surface of the patella and the groove in the femur that it tracks in. Sometimes this is replaced by  Merchants view.

Last time they only did the full frontal, standing one, but that was ordered by the GP, should of been worried when I found that he had requested the wrong knee, so ended up having both xrayed! Thanks for the english translation

These sound like the ones I had in april. They don't really tell you what they are doing half of the time in the uk though.
Mine didn't show anything out of the ordinary.

Yeah I'm not holding my breath that these are going to show anything exciting, but at least the girl in the xray dept is really nice, she was the one who decided that we couldn't go against the GP's request, even though it was clearly wrong, so she said we would do both. I think I'll try and get both done again, at least I can amuse myself trying to see if there are any differences

What are wait times like in NFLND?, over here in SK, X Rays are great, just go from the Docs office less than 1/2 mile to the small town hospital and have it done, usually no wait time, can also pick up the films and take them straight back to the docs to be read if needed.

Ultra sound took a little longer, had to wait a month, and go into the city. MRI's are impossible, need an OS to refer you, and I've waited since May to get to the OS, actually go on 26th Sept, then  if I need an op, maybe a 2 year wait.

Well here in CB it isnt too bad, all the X-Rays are sent via a computer program from the WMRH (Western Memorial Regional Hospital)  usually straight to your GP . my x-rays were sent to several docs. before my GP and the OS . It was for... "extra opinions" so I have to wait a while to get those  but usually here on the west coast it isn't bad but, on the east and central people complain about times . but MRI's and etc. are very difficult to get here .
