skyline x-ray - can anyone interpet please?
« on: June 22, 2007, 09:53:02 PM »
hi - got this done today - anyone know why my patella looks so squashed into the groove on my right knee (my right is the bad one).
apologies for the reflections of cars and stuff through the x-ray - i held it up to a window to take a pic :)
1986 - recurrent dislocations of right patella began
1988 - Modified Hauser Procedure
1991 - dislocations started again
2005 to 2007 - 150 dislocations in 2 years - OUCH!!!
June 2007 - new OS, new physio
Oct 2007 - VMO woke up
Mar 2008 - big quads, still dislocating
Apr 2008 - next OS app

not an expert, but you have replied to my posts, looks like u dont have much cartilage. The black stuff in between the patella and the femur (i guess) is cartilage and it doesnt look like there is much left.

again, definately not an expert, but looks like that.

(i had one like that too, hurt cuz they wanted to bed my knee like that and it was really stiff)

thanks jak - youre a sweetheart - in so much pain yourself and still able to be helpful to other people - you rock!!

yes i wondered that myself - i did have surgery on that knee and they did say i was low on cartilage at the time of the surgery - but that was 18 years ago - theres lots of crunching in it but it doesnt cause pain as such.
Im not sure if it looks like that cos they made it that way from the surgery or if it looks that way cos theres a problem!!!
