Lump on outside of knee
« on: June 22, 2007, 10:05:55 AM »
Hi, I'm new to this board and was hoping someone could help me out.  I'm in Korea for a month and right before I left the States, I suffered a grade 3 tear of my MCL on my left knee.  As a result, I've been hobbling around with a knee brace and have done quite a bit of walking actually, despite the difficulty.  The question I have actually pertains to the outside of my right knee.  I noticed today that there is a pretty firm lump (maybe a quarter of an inch or half an inch in diameter) on the outside of my right knee.  It does not hurt and will move around a bit when I touch it.  I am wondering if this could be some kind of cyst that arose as a result of the extra strain that has been placed on my right leg because of the injury to my left knee.  I've cetainly been walking funny for a week, and have been putting considerably more weight on that leg as a result.  Any advice or diagnosis would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much!
