Need a cryo cuff real soon!!
« on: June 02, 2007, 10:49:32 PM »
I haven't been on here lately as I have been waiting for approval for surgery.  Surgery the 14th of this month.  Now I need a cryo cuff ASAP.  Looked at the marketplace on this site, and didn't find much, anyone here have one?????  And if so, please let me know how much your asking for one.  Thanks in advance,  Tracy

My insurance (BCBS State of TN Employees) covers the cost of a cryotherapy unit if the OS prescribes it.  It is covered under the durable supplies part of the insurance ploicy.  Check with your insurance.

My insurance company used to cover the old kind that you had to hold over your head.  I have 3 or 4 of those things. Some for knees and some for shoulders. Now all they have are the electric pump ones. They cover the rental for the cooler part (which has to be returned) but they don't cover the part that attaches and goes over your knee so you have to pay $60 for them and they're useless once you give the cooler part back. Plus they are really a pain in the @ to put ice in because then you can't get the cover back on. When I had my PKR I told them I would bring my own cryocuff so I wouldn't have to pay the $60 and I like them better anyway. But they're not for sale because I know I'll need them again.
