Doctor Appointment
« on: April 16, 2007, 02:43:45 AM »
I am taking my husband to the OS tomorrow.  According to the MRI, he has a complex tear involving the posterior horn of the medial meniscus with suggestion of an intraarticular fragment, contusion involving the posterolateral tibial plateau, and a tear in his ACL.  I am just wondering if there are any specific questions to ask him.  Thanks.

Hi Here,
Sorry to here about your husbands injury.  Sounds like he did a pretty good whammy in the knee huh?  There are loads of questions and information about his injuries here on the site.  For his ACL tear, I might suggest you go to the Specialist Office and read through some of the posts that many others including myself have posted regarding our messed up knees.  Yes there are lots of questions I would be asking, but a little more information about your husband, age, type of accident that caused his injury, his activity / sport level, how long ago he injured his knee, amount of swelling and etc would be helpful to know.  I would recommend that you post a thread under the Cruciate Ligament section with a bit more information and I am sure you will get lots of recommendations on what questions to ask.  Oh also where you are located would also be helpful to give some advise from those that are located on the same side of the pond as you.  You and he will find much very valuable info as well as people with the camaraderie of relating "war injuries".  This site has been absolutely invaluable to me as I struggled through my injury and then on to recovering from my surgery!  Good luck and unfortunately welcome!  :D
