Popliteus Tendon issue
« on: April 13, 2007, 05:23:00 PM »
Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with a Snapping Popliteus Tendon.  My orthopedic surgeon believes I may have this, as a small tendon on the outside of my knee snaps or slips over the bony protrusion there every time I bend my knee, which is not only annoying, but rather painful as well.  Apparently it's rather uncommon, and I haven't been able to find much information out there about it.  Any help would be appreciated, so I might know what I'm in for with this.  So far all I've read is that if it doesn't go away on its own, surgery is probably my only recourse to correct it.  After having an arthroscopy back in January to remove some abnormal synovial tissue, I'm not exactly looking forward to more surgery, but at this point I just want my knee back to "normal" so I can start running again!

Thanks!

(I posted this last month in a different board without response, so I'm hoping this forum might get me some feedback-thanks in advance!)
