Hi all,
I injured my knee 4 years ago and the problem was brushed off by the orthopoedic surgeon in charge of my case, maybe someone here has a similar problem and could shed some light on a possible diagnosis? I fell from a horse and fractured my pelvis in 3 places, and at the same time injured my knee. In his exctement over my pelvis my doctor ignored my complaints of knee pain in addition to the pelvic fracture. My physical therapist worked with me, and my knee is stable, but I'd like to know what happened. At the time of injury the pain was fairly severe, akin to an ice pick jabbed into the front of my knee. Now, it is at best, stiff, and at worst sharp pain throughout my joint. The pain is greatest upon flexion, and primarily but not exculsively in my anterior knee. I have developed significant crepitus, felt best when flexing my knee. With exercise, and weather changes, a mild effusion sometimes develops. Anyone have anything similar? Or is there a doctor in the house that may be able to point me in the right direction? At the time, doctors examined it and said that I did not have any drawer signs, or lateral/medial instability. At the hospital they only took rads of my pelvis, never one of my knee.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
