'Knee Vibrations'
« on: March 01, 2007, 11:59:52 PM »
I'm a 17 year old Male who enjoys playing football regularly and I've had a few minor problems with my left knee over the past year or so. Around about a year ago I guess, my left knee would feel pretty stiff usually on Mondays after games on SUndays while my Right knee would feel fine. My knee has sometimes ached and I felt some internal pain at times probably but that seems to have passed. The knee has generally been ok over the past few months but I have noticed that my left knee seems to 'vibrate' a lot more than my right.

I don't think my left knee is as strong as my right and I've noticed that if I place my hand on and around my left knee I can feel it vibrate quite obviously. I've tried it with my right and can sometimes feel slight vibrations but not at the same extent as the left knee.

So I was just wondering what might be causing these greater vibrations? From what I've read I think it may be to do with the cartilage but I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about 'knee vibrations'?

hi there! have you had your knee checked out by a specialist?? did you have a fall or anything??
i have similar feelings in my knee and it feels like something is moving around inside if i put my hand over the top of it.
i don't know if this is the same as you have been experiencing but mine is my nerves,i had an impact fall on my patella and damaged nerves and was told this was what was causing this sensation.
if you are getting pain in your knee i would definatly get this checked out by a doctor who should refer you to a specialist as there are so many things that can go wrong with your knees and its better to be safe and have them looked at!! let us know how you get on!
i had a motorcycle accident-landed on right knee!(mar 05)
...arthroscopy - 4th feb 06.
...VMO Advancement,LR+JMedial reefing - 24th jan 07.
...28 feb 07 i fell down 14 stairs.....more pain and stress!
...now at PT working on ROM and strenghening

Nah I haven't seen a specialist it's never really felt that serious. Can't remember falling on it badly at all I think it could just be from overuse. I do remember kneeling down to watch TV after a football match and thinking that may have started to cause it discomfort I also used to sit in a confined space for quite long periods at work which wouldn't have helped things and may have been a cause.. But as I said, it's been ok over the past few months.

Thanks for the reply and the advice. If it starts to get uncomfortable and feels vulnerable to injury I will think about seeing someone because I would be pretty depressed without football..
