types of knee surgery
« on: February 27, 2007, 08:06:24 PM »

Hello. Im new to this site and am just trying to find out about a certain type of knee surgery that will be performed for the third time on my girlfriend.  She constantly has pain in her right and left knee and appartently the doctors have to go in and cut out some type of tissue that is beasically causing her body to eat away at her knee cap. If she doesnt have this surgery done for the third time in five years shell have to have a knee replacement surgery by the age of 21.  If anyone has any information for me id be glad for the help. thank you

Sounds like it could be scar tissue, but i'm not sure it eats away at the knee. More it causes things to be pulled where they shouldn't be and thus causes damage.   Does that sound right? Arthrofibrosis is a condition that happens most commonly after knee surgery but sometimes after a tramatic accident that causes the repair of our bodies to go into overdrive and it just produces so much scar tissue it stuffs up the joint good...

That is what I can think of... but I'm not sure. Hope you get some answers and your girlfriend gets some relief.
