locking, moving and giving out.....
« on: February 27, 2007, 01:49:39 AM »
I have had 2 arthroscopes with meniscus tears. The second scope showed the culprit, a nearly completely torn ACL. I have been in therapy up until a month ago post scope now i am nearing surgery on 3-7-07 for a allograft ACL repair. I am hoping that the recovery isnt too long. I wanted to know number one would i be able to drive in week 2 post op?  Any one use a cryo cuff for cold therapy and is the recovery easier with that allograft?  thanks  , i think i am getting a bit nervous.

You should try posting this on the Cruciate Board.  I have never had an ACLR but I do know that the recovery is long.  It is not a "quik fix" kind of surgery like you might experience with a meniscus tear.  Alot of people are in imobilizers post op.. for a period of time... and it's a slow process to recover as you can't stress the graft.  The driving thing I would think would depend on which leg it is and wether you drive a standard or automatic.

Do try posting this down on the Cruciate board in teh specialists section...  there will be lot's of people with answers there.

Goodluck :)
