Aching at the back of my knee
« on: February 23, 2007, 01:51:59 PM »
Hello everyone

I'm sorry for all the questions I keep asking, but I'm not clued up on all of this yet . . . but I'm sure I will be in time  ::)

I see my OS on March 5th (I can't wait), but something new has cropped up in the past 2 weeks with my left knee.

Aside from the Chondromalacia in both knees, I now find that after sitting in the normal sitting position for even a shortish period of time (10 minutes or so), when I stand up I now have a really horrible ache at the back of my left knee :(  is this something else as well as m Chondromalacia??

I know none of you here can diagnose me, I'm not asking for that, but I wondered whether any of you here have had anything similar, or might have an idea whats going on?

I cannot wait to see my OS - I'll be so glad to get the ball rolling to 'hopefully' being fit again  :)

Thanking you all in advance

Shirley

No. It doesn't appear to be swollen and there isn't really anything to see.  All the swelling is under my kneecap :-\

No ideas then????

I can't wait for a week on Monday ::)

Hello,

Im not sure what it is,, but i thought i would reply because I too have the same thing going on after sitting. It is also my left knee that does it.  I just seen my OS yesterday, but forgot to mention it.  I don't see my OS again til April 2nd, which is also my birthday.

It may just be from fluid/swelling in the knee joint.  I find the back of my knee is sore when the joint is irritated... not sure why this is... but I get it when there is more fluid causing pressure in there.
goodluck with your appointment hope you get some good answers

I have arthritis in my knee as well, and I, too, get that aching feeling in the back of my knee, especially after sitting awhile. How about car rides? Does that bother you?

If it is a short car ride it doesn't bother me, but when i went to my dr's appointment yesterday i had to travel for about 45 min both ways and it was killing me by the time i got back home.
