Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum and I'm sure this question has been asked in the past so my apologies if it has. I'm currently on the waiting list for ACLr and wondered whether to have the reconstruction with the patella tendon or hamstrings? I've heard that there can be post op problems with kneeling with the patella tendon procedure but it is stronger autograft than the hamstrings. I am a Paramedic so kneeling is quite often needed! But, I'd prefer a stronger graft as I've had some problems on and off with my knee (damaged meniscus requiring 2 x arthroscopy) before finally deciding to have the ACLr and would like to return to sporting activities in the future.
Also, my OS told me I should be fit for work 3-4 months post op. I thought the rehabilitation would take longer?
Any help or guidance would be most appreciated.
