Just had a terrible thought!
« on: February 09, 2007, 11:42:10 AM »
 ???

With my Chondromalacia, I have quite a bit of swelling under my left kneecap.

A terrifying thought just came to me . . . .

The swelling . . . is this most likely to be just fluid????  or is there a chance there could be clotted blood??

Only I'm due to fly on Monday, and now I've thought of the possibilty of blood, I'm worried about flying!

Hope this doesn't sound silly, but it's something that just struck me :(

Your thoughts greatly appreciated.

Shirley

Hi Shirley

No it doesn't sound silly I can understand your concerns. I believe that this more than likley will be fluid, that usually is the case with this type of problem. If you are still having alot of concerns try and get to speak to your GP or if you can get intouch with your OS see what advice they can give you. Just to put your mind at rest.

Hope everythink works out

Sarah

You don't need to worry..if you have had this for long there is much likely fluid with this diagnos you have. If you have a new injury though or have had surgery that can be another matter.
If so call and ask.
Hope you will have a nice trip.

Many thanks everyone for your thoughts.

I'm sure you are right :)  My husband says he is positive it's fluid due to the way my knee is floating around ::)

I see my specialist for the first time since I was diagnosed with all of this on March 5th.  I'm hoping they can tell me what the main cause of this is, and what I can have done / do, to help get better.

Thanks again :)

Shirley
